Business writing is different from other forms because you have to get to your main point quickly while making it easy to read. Large chunks of text can put off any reader, but for some people in business, they might not even read it. Contrary to academic writing, the details might not be as important as the main ideas. Because of this, business writing can be more formulaic than other forms of writing.

 

In my business communications class, I created a memo that analyzed a problem in a coffee company and provided a recommendation.
